Quick Update

I noticed i hadn't updated my progress in a few days, and the model (i think) has come a long way, but obviusly there is ALOT of work yet to be done.
There are many details that i just dont know how to physically put into reality, so they have just kind of been left unfinished (eg the roof of the gallery dome is meant to be all transparent glass - but it wont let me do that). Also i have not yet added the 1st floor yet - i will get there soon.

what i have learnt over the last 5 days - Sketchup is a very slow process if your making weird shapes - boxes are easy, but boxes are not creative so im just going to keep being antisocial.

  1. Hi Sasha,

Glad to see that you are working away. What you have looks interesting, and it's great to see your building sitting on a landscape. Don't think that boxes are not creative, that is far from the truth. It all depends on the spatial experience that the architecture creates, sometimes quiet and and understated rectilinear spaces can be monumental and timeless.

Also, well done on the blog post before about the clients' needs. I hope that writing exercise has helped clarify your thoughts somewhat.

    Will see you tomorrow.
